Founded by self-professed geek and entrepreneur Robert Yau (along with his faithful dog, Hershey), datemypet.com matches animal lovers to animal lovers and animals to animals.
Sort of like a built-in double date.??????The idea for the web site came to Yau while walking his dog in his nearby neighborhood park.
His dog, Hershey, was always a magnet for conversation, with people stopping to admire the dog and talk about their own pets.
Yau says "total strangers would be talking like old friends," and it became obvious to him that pets provide that instant connection.
